How Workahead collects evidence, keeps measurement periods visible, and turns findings into practical owner tools.

What counts as evidence

We distinguish official statistics, administrative records, company announcements, and our own observations. Every quantitative finding needs a source, date, geography, unit, and denominator. A calculation or operating suggestion is labeled separately from a measured result.

The DFW website study

The July 25, 2026 study reviewed 105 unique website hosts drawn from directory lists for Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Irving, Frisco, McKinney, Denton, Garland, and Mesquite. It is a directory-derived sample, not a census of DFW electrical businesses.

Ninety-five homepages returned HTTP 200 in the collection. The published intake comparison uses those 95 reachable pages: 36 had both a detected telephone link and literal HTML form, 31 had one, and 28 neither. An automated fetch may miss a JavaScript widget or a form on another page. A detected HTML form can also be a search box rather than an inquiry form. We do not translate these flags into lost calls or revenue.

Wages and construction

BLS occupation estimates describe employee jobs and wages for a declared period. They exclude self-employed workers and do not measure employer burden. Census Building Permits Survey figures count authorized housing units and structures; they do not establish starts, electrical scope, awards, or revenue. We compare the same geography and category across final annual releases.

Company project announcements describe what the operator reported on that date. Capacity plans, construction, financing, and opening are separate statuses. We do not infer an available electrical package from a campus announcement.

Tools and examples

The labor calculator exposes its formula and lets the reader supply costs. Illustrative values, hiring rules, templates, and worked examples are planning aids, not measured market benchmarks or promises of results. Inputs entered in the calculator stay in the browser.

Tool measurement

We record the research page path and basic actions such as calculator completion and worksheet downloads. Calculator values and questionnaire answers are not included in these research events. Counts are diagnostic and can include repeat visits or automated traffic.

Updates and corrections

Page revision dates describe editorial changes. Source measurement dates stay attached to their figures. When a source changes, we preserve the original period and identify the new release or announcement instead of silently relabeling old data.
