The problem
The estimate is clear in the tech's head at the house and fuzzy two days later at the desk. Quotes wait for the evening or the weekend, and the longer they wait, the more of them are lost. Typing line items is slow even when the price book is good.
What Cowork does
- The tech saves notes (or a transcribed voice memo) to a shared Drive folder or emails them to an ops address.
- A task every two hours reads new notes and matches the work to the shop's price book, kept as a Google Sheet or exported from the FSM.
- It writes a quote draft: line items, quantities, options the tech mentioned, and questions where the notes were unclear.
- Where Composio's Jobber toolkit is connected, it can create the draft quote in Jobber (if available for your account). Otherwise the draft goes into a Google Doc linked from the Jobber request.
Where the draft lands
A draft quote in Jobber via Composio, or a Google Doc ready to copy in, with open questions listed at the top.
What stays with you
Pricing judgment, checking quantities, and sending the quote. The estimator signs off on every number.
Questions first: 1) Notes say "run to garage," distance not given. 2) Tech mentioned two outlets OR four?
Line items from price book: EV charger install, 48A hardwired (1) · 60A breaker (1) · 6/3 NM-B run, garage, per ft (TBD) · Permit and inspection (1) · Optional: load management device (1)
Watch-outs
- Jobber's official connector can't create quotes. Writing them into Jobber needs Composio and a Workahead-registered Jobber app.
- A wrong quantity in a draft is easy to miss. Keep the 'questions' list at the top and make the estimator clear it.
Questions owners ask
Can it read photos?
Claude can describe photos you upload, but the Gmail connector can't read attachment contents. Put photos in Drive if you want them used.
Will it price the job?
It uses your price book. It doesn't invent prices, and anything missing from the price book is flagged as a question.
