Register equipment warranties after every install

For HVAC and water heater installs, Cowork lists each week's installed units with model and serial numbers and drafts the warranty registration details and the customer's warranty letter.

The problem

Manufacturers often require registration within a set period for the longer warranty term. Registrations get missed when the office is busy, and the customer finds out when the unit fails.

What Cowork does

  1. Techs record model and serial numbers in the job notes or a Drive form.
  2. A weekly task reads completed install jobs from Jobber and pulls those details.
  3. It builds a registration list with links to each manufacturer's registration page and the deadline from the shop's notes.
  4. It drafts a letter to each customer confirming the equipment, warranty term and registration date.

Where the draft lands

A weekly registration list and customer letter drafts.

What stays with you

Submitting registrations on manufacturer sites and sending the letters.

Installed this week (2): Park, 77 Crest Rd, condenser model and serial from job notes, registration deadline per our notes: 60 days from install (Dec 8).

Letter draft: Hi Linda, here's a record of your new system, its serial numbers, and the warranty terms. We register it with the manufacturer for you.

Watch-outs

  • Warranty terms and deadlines differ by manufacturer. Keep them in the shop's notes, checked against the manufacturer's site.
  • Cowork won't fill in manufacturer web forms for you in a scheduled task.

Questions owners ask

Why does this matter for marketing?

A warranty letter keeps your name on the unit for its life, which helps with service calls later.
