The problem
Renewals are when clients shop around. Agencies know they should reach out early, but with a few hundred policies a month, outreach turns into a mass email or happens only for the biggest accounts.
What Cowork does
- The agency exports upcoming renewals from its AMS to a Drive folder each week (Applied Epic, HawkSoft and EZLynx have no Claude connector today).
- A weekly task reads the export and picks policies renewing in 55 to 65 and 25 to 35 days.
- It drafts a personal email for each: the policy, renewal date, and two or three questions about life changes that affect coverage (new driver, home renovation, new vehicle).
- It writes a short prep note for the account manager listing what to review.
Where the draft lands
Email drafts and prep notes, grouped by account manager.
What stays with you
All coverage advice, quoting and sending. Nothing in the draft recommends coverage.
Hi Ellen, your home policy renews on Dec 12. Before then, has anything changed that we should know about, like a renovation, a new roof, or a home business? A quick reply or a 10-minute call is enough. Rachel
Prep note for Rachel: policy in force 6 years; last coverage review 2024.
Watch-outs
- Client policy data is sensitive. Use a Team plan (no training on business data by default) and limit the export to fields you need.
- State insurance rules on advice and solicitation apply. Keep drafts to questions and scheduling.
Questions owners ask
Can it connect to our AMS directly?
Not today without a custom connector and partner API access. Weekly exports work.
Will it compare carriers?
No. Quoting and recommendations stay with licensed staff.
