The problem
Commercial clients need certificates fast, often same-day, and the requests arrive as messy emails from general contractors and property managers. A CSR reads each one, figures out what's needed, and finds the client's policy.
What Cowork does
- An hourly task reads the certificates inbox.
- It extracts the requesting party, certificate holder, project, required coverages, additional insured and waiver language, and deadline.
- It adds a row to a queue sheet and flags anything unusual (high limits, primary/non-contributory wording) for a licensed person.
- It drafts an acknowledgment to the requester with the expected turnaround.
Where the draft lands
A request queue sheet and acknowledgment drafts.
What stays with you
Issuing certificates in the AMS and judging whether requested wording matches the policy.
Request: Ridge Builders for client Brightline Electric. Holder: Ridge Builders LLC. Project: Riverside Medical. Needs: GL, auto, workers' comp; additional insured; waiver of subrogation. Flag: primary/non-contributory wording requested, needs licensed review. Deadline: tomorrow 5 PM.
Acknowledgment: Received, we'll send it by tomorrow afternoon.
Watch-outs
- Attachments (contract excerpts) can't be read by the Gmail connector. Ask requesters to paste requirements or save PDFs to Drive.
- Issuing a certificate that doesn't match the policy creates real liability. Keep issuance human.
Questions owners ask
Can it issue the certificate?
No. That happens in your AMS by licensed staff.
Does it work with our COI software?
Only if it has a connector or Zapier integration. Most don't today.
