The problem
Missed calls with no voicemail are invisible. The phone app shows a red number, nobody knows which ones were new customers, and the callbacks that do happen are random. A shop can lose more work this way than through any single marketing channel, and it rarely shows up in a report.
What Cowork does
- A daily task at 6:30 AM reads yesterday's call log from Quo or RingCentral.
- It drops calls that were answered later, calls from staff, and known spam numbers.
- It matches the remaining numbers against Jobber clients (or the CRM) so the list says 'existing customer, open quote' or 'new number'.
- It ranks new numbers and open-quote customers first and emails the list with one-tap phone links.
- Each Friday it adds a line with how many missed calls were returned within a day.
Where the draft lands
One email each morning, plus a running Google Sheet of missed calls and callbacks.
What stays with you
Making the calls. The list only tells you who to call first.
Callbacks for Tue, 7 missed yesterday, 4 worth a call:
1. (555) 201-4471, new number, called twice at 4:10 and 4:22 PM
2. Maria Okoye, open quote Q-1183 (panel upgrade, $4,850), 11:05 AM
3. (555) 388-0912, new number, 6:48 PM
4. Tom Becker, existing client, 2:15 PM
Skipped: 2 spam, 1 supplier.
Watch-outs
- Sending the list is fine; having Cowork text callers is a separate decision because each text needs approval in Claude.
- Some carriers hide caller ID on blocked numbers. Those can't be matched.
Questions owners ask
Does this work with a desk phone system?
Only if the phone system has a connector. Quo and RingCentral have official ones. Others may work through Zapier, if available.
Can it call people back?
No. It builds the list. A person makes the call.
